Internet Explorer was once synonymous with internet, but its dominance was broken by Firefox at the turn of millenium.
However, a blog post published by Microsoft, the browser that also became synonymous with malware, pop-ups and viruses, may soon be discontinued.
It is not surprising given the fact that Microsoft also launched Edge browser, which incidentally seems to have failed too with Microsoft soon switching to Chromium as the base for next release of Edge.
Microsoft regards Internet explorer as a compatibility solution and newer web standards are not being added to it. New developers generally don’t test their websites on Internet Explorer largely due to the fact that it is virtually obsolete.
